I imagine most of us on IDM don't care. I don't. Just one thing (and this applies to all drugs, really): You can really only apply the phrase "You can quit whenever you want" to yourself. Since everyone has a different chemical makeup and different tolerances for various substances, it is not fair to say that anyone can quit whenever they want because it simply isn't true. Lucky for you (and most others) that you can. One should never advise people on what their body can take unless you are their physician.

For some of us, pot *is* the really hard stuff. *shrug* It's all a matter of willingness and tolerance.

I'll confirm it for you. :-)

You can talk about whatever you want. It's a free net. However, last time I checked, this list was about music. We all know that many of the artists involved in this type of music are also involved in drugs, that's no big secret. It's also no secret that many of its listeners do drugs to enhance the experience of the music. As an adjucnt, the subject of drugs is perfectly reasonable to talk about, but as the main topic of any discussion, well, I just think that there are plenty of other places on the net to do this without having to do it here. I assure you that this list is busy enough with the topic of music that we don't need postings purely about drugs. There was a great thread a while back which started a small subthread about how much pot Jack Dangers smokes before a gig. It was funny (and reasonably short), and it made sense in the context of this list. As for your personal experiences on drugs, as long as they're in the context of music, hey, post away. Think about this, though: One of the things I do while listening to this sort of music is pay my bills. I think that it really enhances the music; all those visions of money being sucked from my checking account complement beautifully the swirling textures of the music. I am 99.9% positive, however, that no one here wants to read about my bi-monthly bill-paying experiences. And even if there was someone (who must be seriously sick) who did want to read them, posting those experiences to this list isn't really the right way to go about it. That's just my two cents.

I hope not too. Anyone who does kick you off a list for posting things like that is a coward and a hypocrite. As long as there's music in there, go for it. - Adam J Weitzman Individual, Inc. weitzman@individual.com
